Now a days we travel from one place to another place for many different reasons such as for engineering job or post graduation study etc.. all u need to carry luggage and many more.
Here i will explain you how to carry a two wheeler vehicle from Indian railways.
To carry a vehicle you should have all following documents with you together
1) Get insured your vehicle from insurance company if you dont have one, which is needed in case your vehicle is stolen etc..
2) You should have valid RC of the vehicle.
3) Keep the copy of the vehicle bill with you to declare the resale value of the vehicle.
4)Identity card obtain from govt. such as adhar card etc.
Now you have two ways to carry your vehicle
1) Take along with you with the same train.
-> safest way to carry your vehicle along with you, cost will be bit higher but not more than 2000.
For example : from Mysore to Nagpur traveling distance 1340 KM
It will cost approx. 1800 rs + 200 for packing vehicle.
2) post your vehicle as a parcel. ( its is an another alternative, it will reach depend upon them, you need to check regularly)
While going to book , you should note that.
you have emptied petrol tank, not even single drop of petrol in the bike, else they will not allow.
get the same clean from vender at railway station.
Pack your vehicle with gunny bag etc.. like you take care of yourself. So , it should not damage any part of vehicle.
Go to parcel office , register it for parcel. collect the booking slip and receiving slip with you.
Please keep it with you carefully you need show them while receiving, write the receiver address carefully.
